6.8 Earthquake in the Philippines Hoax

"U.S. Geological Society predicts a 6.8 magnitude earthquake will hit Philippine plates tonight. Please be Calm and alert"

Late this afternoon, I received a SMS message from a concerned friend about this horrifying to-be-disaster. But before we panic, let's get the matters straight and check the reliability of this information.

Good thing there is internet! It is easy to counter check fraud.

First of, there is no U.S. Geological Soceity, only U.S. Geological Survey Earthquake Hazards Program or better known as USG or Hawaii State Emergency Preparedness Office.

Second, it is so impossible that the entire Philippine plate would experience earth quake all at the same time. Just imagine.

Third, there is no accurate / reliable earthquake predictions anywhere in the world.

I resign

So much drama lately and I just got to say I resign.

OK.. now that I've taken a breather and my rabid emotions have taken their proper seats, I can deal with what's happened and tell the story.

Ati-atihan Patikim

Wow! I got wifi at home (boracay). This so unexpected and I am really thankful that I have it now. I admit, it is hard for me to do away with the internet. I'm so used to getting online almost 24/7 back in Manila and now I am able to have this luxury back!! Oh my! It's like I never left Manila at all!

And this would also mean, I'd be blogging more often again. hahaha. I'm so happy, so so happy!

Just a quick update of what I have been upto:
1. I went to Kalibo for the Ati-atihan Festival
2. I didn't know that Brownman Revival would be playing for the festival (but lucky jammy, was in town too and didn't miss it)
3. Aside from BMR, Mar Roxas, Nel"Crushie" PBB Housemate and MMDA's Bayani Fernando joined the parade.

hmmm, but doesn't it make you wonder??? What business does MMDA got to do with Kalibo's Ati-atihan? Imagine the unnecessary cost of flying a full drum and lyre band from Manila to Boracay and back? The talent fee for the band, the pink sneakers and pink suit? Hotel accomodations? It's a distasteful show of extravagance from a government agency in a third-world country paying first-world tax. Just distasteful at least to me and most of the Aklanons I met in Kalibo.

Haaay, yan muna.

hmmm, did I just admit I crush Nel?

I can't believe I am having these thoughts and that I am venting it out here for everyone to read.

I don't like working on holidays especially when it is a legal holiday declared by the President. Yes, I am to report for work on the 29th of October. What happened to my citizenship rights? I feel naked.

But on the other hand, what am I complaining about? I'm already on the island! I get to wear my Halloween costume to school. I get to play...Play...PLAY!!!

***jammygrl08 inhales deeply and exhales completely.

I feel better now.

hehehe

Work's A Drain Yet Pay's A Gain!

Nowadays, I only have a few minute of peace and quiet time to myself everyday. It shows in my blog. I haven't updated anything on it in a long time. So, I thought of letting a minute or two worth of thoughts from my precious limited free time at work.

This week is almost over. I'm so tired, but I shouldn't forget that I'm lucky just by having this job. Lucky to be living here on the island.

lucky...Lucky...LUCKY!!!

but still tired. wenk... wenk... wenk ...wenk(down)

Desire

Beyond the career success and desire to be wealthy, there lay another wanting, a greater desire in one's heart that hushes the screams of other desires. And that is, to be loved.

Gamugamu

I Keep Coming Back To Manila

I am back in Manila.

I am currently basking on the following:
  1. Cinemalaya Indie Films at CCP and
  2. ...other movies on cinemas
  3. Ababu (Village Persian Kitchen) and
  4. ...other nooks around the village
  5. Internet
  6. Cable TV
  7. Jogging at UP Dil
  8. Friends
  9. Family
  10. Cooking
Those are all that matters...for now. These are all the things I lack back in Boracay...so while I have all of it in the city, I shall maximize the comfort they bring.
